ALRUNE ROD - Ragnarock live '74 (Karma)Unique recording surfaced suddenly. After more than 30 years !! A 16 track recording from the Ragnarock Festival Norway '74. The group did'nt know about this. Leif Roden has mixed it, and now we have this unique CD where ALRUNE ROD played at their peak and also more "crompressed" than ever because they had only 1 hour for their gig !
ARBETE & FRITID & R. LUNDQUIST - Slottbergets hambo – 72 (MNW)The collaboration between Rolf Lundqvist and ARBETE & FRITID finally see the light of the day. A chaotic Swedish folk-lore with kraut / progg overtones, incl. Tangos, valses, all with a ARBETE & FRITID touch, and close to a masterpiece ! Digipack.
BEEFEATERS - The secret tapes – 68 (Karma)This is a gold-stroke. Tapes are from around '68. They were recorded privateley by af friend, and the sound is great due to the fact that it was reel-to reel and 2 mics: 1 at the soloist, another at the "group". Tapes are carefully cleaned up, and sound is matrixed in a way so there is both depth and wide stereo, plus the group plays superb.
BLUE SUN & JYTTE PILLONI - It's all money Johnny – 76 (Karma)We could say it's the 2nd album of BLUE SUN, but recorded as a back up group to Jytte Pilloni. Good Danish roots psychedelic rock with at times hard guitars and superb female vocals from Jytte. + 1 Bonus track: "Jonnie The Junkie".
BLÅ TÅGET - Blå Tåget '69 – 74 (MNW)Compilation from classic Swedish left-wing band who was famous and compared to bands like NATIONALTEATERN and NYNNINGEN from '69 to '74. This is a compilation of 17 tracks holding hits like "Staten ch kapitalet" and "Kalla kriget".
BO HANSSON - Music inspired by watership down – 77 (Emi)4th album in Sweden called "El-Ahrairah". Another masterpiece from Swedish keyboard wizard, and with the help from Kenny Håkansson, who delivers some real tasty guitar melodies here. Otherwise, you know what you get, fantasy filled progressive performed on keyboards. + 1 Bonus track: "Migration Suite - Live In The Studio".
CINDERELLA - Udkoksning i tre satser – 70 (Karma)Overwiew on the work of early 70's band heavy progressive rock band from Danmark. Presented here is their one and only album from '70 (Spectator), some early non-lp single tracks and 5 live tracks from '72.
DEN LILLE PRINS - Hippieology vol. 1 – 71 (Karma)From the ancient rock-years in Denmark. DEN LILE PRINS and FORENINGEN TILL LIVETS BESKYTTELSE was situated in a comunity outside Aalborg in Jyland Denmark around '70 - '72. This is more or less the same story as FUREKAABEN from Copenhagen: People are living together in a community, some of them are musicians, and.. wow, you have a band ! Just the girl Susanne Hamilton is from Copenhagen, and she was presentet to the group via the "producer" from ancient rec. label Spectator. No wonder that the two LPs sounds like something between FUREKABEN and SKOUSEN / IINGEMANN. That means rock based on folk. Instruments are: Acoustic and electric guitars, bass, drums, violin, saxophone, jewharp, mandolin and lotsa vocal. Lyrics are naive-but-with-a-big-warm-heart as they came those days, and this was not bad at all. The atmosphere is so groowy and friedley as you can think of. Those days were really something. These two LPs on one CD tells us something about why the early hippie-rock-days were so good.
DORIS - Did you give the world some love today baby – 70 (Emi)
One of the best Swedish westcoast albums ever made in Scandinavian. Doris have a very good voice, you could not expect to come from Sweden by hearing her accent. Musically, they add some brass as well a slight hippie psychedelic touch. On drums we find Janne Carlsson from HANSSON & CARLSSON and on swirling organs Berndt Egerbladh. + 10 Bonus tracks: "Mama Didn't lie", "Benny Law", "You Made A Fool Of Me", "Wouldn't That Be Groovy", "Don't Let It Rain", "One Fine Day", "Flowers In The Morning", "What A Lovely Way", "Why Did You Go" & "Go Back To Daddy".
EDDY ZOLTAN – Spelemannen –74 (Tylden &)A Bulgarian man lives in Norway released this album in '74. Very folky with lots of hammond. This CD release is remastered with 3 bonus tracks: "Klipas", "Kjaere Johan" & "The Joker".
FIENDENS MUSIK - 17 sparkar rätt i skallen – 79 (Living I)Swedish left winged political band of the late 70's. What made FIENDENS MUSIK stand out compared to bands like NATIONALTEATERN and NYNNINGEN was that FIENDENS MUSIK played harder and more provokative than the rest of the movement at this time, rough and dirty. This features their 2 first singles as well as their debut album. Contains the superb version of Larry Wallis "Police car", sung in Swedish, as well as their all time hit "En spark ratt i skallen". Swedish music history here !! + 4 Bonus tracks: "En Spark Rätt I Skallen", "Du Går Aldrig Säker", "Pappa Hae Alltid Haft Rätt", "Tredje Tåget".
FRANZ BECKERLEE / GASOLIN - No kiddin' – 79 (Karma)Solo album from GASOLIN guitarrist featuring Willi Jönsson, GASOLIN. This is a 10 tracker of down to roots danish rock, that ends with a guitar blues monster called "Tallerkenvaskers blues".
GUDIBRALLAN - Visor från Sovjetunionen – 04 (Public S)Classic left winged political Swedish rock band. A notch to the politicians and other who deserves it. Musically, GUDIBRALLAN moves from chaotic hardrocking tracks, to more experimental tracks, and a few quite basic songs as well. Very good lyrics. Features 5 bonus tracks: "Sosse", "T-Dojja(version 5.10)", "Visa Om Jungfrun", "Kulåvaful" & "T-Dojja Remix Femtielva".
GUNDER HÄGG – Glassfabriken – 71 (MNW)2nd album before the name change to BLÅ TÅGET. Political rock with folky influences, like ARBETE & FRITID, covering a wide range of musical style. Incl. 3 bonus tracks; "Staten och kapitalet", "Kan sparsamhet rädda proletariet" and "Kalla kriget" - all live.
GUNDER HÄGG – Vargatider – 70 (MNW)Should be the debut album from GUNDER HÄGG, a radical politic band with clear folky and freaked out tale that can be compared to early KEBNEKAISE and ARBETE & FRITID, but GUNDER HÄGG were ahead of their time. Includes 2 bonus tracks; "Var glad du är liten" and "Plump i protokollet".
HANSENS HONS - Hippieology # 3 – 72 (Karma)Vol. 3 in the series Hippieology from Karma records Danmark on the early 70' Danish hippy folk & rock scene. HANSENS HONS started as beat band in the sixties and evolved into a well respected progressive flower power rock and blues rock band frequenting the numberous festivals in Danmark at the time and at Roskilde.
HOLST + WURGLER – Agitpop –76 (Olufsen)This seems like a compilation of tracks from their 70's albums. This is however not much to do with progressive, or symphonic. At top, this could be claimed as folky left wing Danish genuine rock. Featuring members like Peter Thorup, and Tom McEwan (BLAST FURNACE).
HYLDEMOR - Vol. 2 – 03 (DIY)2nd album by Hans Vinding and his HYLDEMOR. Tracks are from late 70's to early 80's, and are filled with acid rock with nice guitars and occasional violins. Vocals are in Danish. + 5 Bonus tracks: "Kys Mig", "Syner Og Demoner", "Eneste Jeg Går Ind For", "En Dag Som Alle Andre" & "Der Sker Et Mirakel I Dag".
HÖST - Live & unreleased – 94 (Oddity)One of the best hard progressive bands from Norway. This one contains 6 tr. live-75 4 tr. live-78 3 tr. live-91. Very recommended !
JACKSONS GARDEN - How do I get into – 68 (Karma)Superb Danish blues psychedelia from '68 featuring rude and superb guitars leads, crude vocals, harmonicas. Very good indeed !!
JIM PEMBROKE - Party upstairs – 81 (Johanna)Legendary Finnish piano player. This album has most acoustic instruments and are more ragtime and 50's US styled inspired.
JOMFRU ANE BAND - Hej igen – 02 (Sony)2-CD. 24 track compilation from mid 70's to mid 80's from this Danish political rock band featuring female vocals. Not really like SAVAGE ROSE, but the sound is quite similar, but maybe slightly more commercial than the early albums of SAVAGE ROSE.
JUKKA GUSTAVSON - Yksin yhdessä..jaloa ylpeyttä yletän.. – 77 (Love)All all instrumental release, much jazzier than the others. Got a big band feeling with horns, organ, guitars etc..
KJELL HÖGLUND – Lokomotiv – 94 (Atlantis)A 13 track compilation from Swedish proletarian with political lyrics in NATIONALTEATERN & NYNNINGEN style. Most of the tracks are early 70's, but also some later ones. Many tracks comes with acoustic guitars only. Very good lyrics which stood the test of time.
LACH'N JONSSON - Songs from cities of decay – 89 (Bauta)Dark Swedish chamber / progressive music from the late 80's. Alot of scary classical inspirations here, but we also trace bands like SAMLA MAMMAS MANNA. Have Swedish lyrics, ending with the 24 minute "Monument".
MADAME GEORGE - What's happening ?!! – 76 (Love)Finnish release from '76. Musically, this is funky and soulful hardrock with many painful guitars. Members come and went, and some were Jukka Gustavsson, and Jim Pembroke. + 6 bonus tracks: "Feelins", "I'm A Man", "It's My Life", "Hard Luck Story", "I'll Go Crazy" & Red Hot White'n Blue".
MIKAEL RAMEL - 3:e skivan – 77 (Mello)3rd album by Swedish hippie Mikael Ramel. First time on CD follwing the path of his previous 2 albums. Feat Bosse Skoglund, Hempo Hilden and Monica Zetterlund as well as 5 bonus tracks: "I Min Svit", "The Missionary", "In Confidence", "Dead Lindes" & "Sagodrömmen". Extremely good looking digipack !!
NATIONALTEATERN - Livet är en fest - Samling '72-'80 (MNW)A 16 track collection from the most famous 70's political left winged rock band who today have cult status in Sweden.
NATIONALTEATERN - Barn av vår tid – 78 (MNW)One of the mega-classics of the Swedish 70's band when it comes to political rock. Features a bunch of hits like "Popens Mussolinis", "Kolla kolla", "Ingelas sång", "Barn av vår tid" etc, with vocals in Swedish. Musically this is rock, not far from Danish GASOLIN, or in that direction. This is Swedish rock history of the 70's at it's best !!
NATIONALTEATERN - Rövarkungens ö – 80 (MNW)The last one from Swedish cult band. Tracks are a bit more maimstream here, but still their ideals and songwritings stand still. This is still a real classic with some really good tracks.
PHILEMON ARTHUR & THE DUNG - The very best of.. / Får jag spy i ditt paraply – 02 (Silence)OK, this should be written in Swedish, because this is mainly for Swedes, or people that understand Swedish. A hillarous and legendary South Swedish progger that to this date remain unknown. This is a 30 tracker with a selection, mainly from their rare cassettes. Silly music performed on harmonium, acoustic guitars and various kitchen tools.
PIHASOITTAJAT - Kontanten kotia – 75 (Love)2nd album and in the same vein as their debut album. Finnish folk music that reminds a bit of the English style with the use of tin whistle, banjos. Slow tracks with male / female voices. Good. + 4 bonus tracks.
PIIRPAUKE – Sillat – 02 (Warner)'02 album from long lived Finnish ethno jazz / world music / folk combo. This album "Sillat" is one of the most traditional and jazzy releases I heard so far with PIIRPAUKE including lots of percussion, saxophones, pianos, and like many of their previous albums, this is more instrumental.
PIIRPAUKE - Ave maria – 96 (Warner)A 15 tracker from PIIRPAUKE that are more influenced from the folk scene of South America than their previous albums. Includes lots of pan flutes, percussions, acoustic guitars, and not bad if you like bands like LOS JAIVAS and GABRIELA.
PIIRPAUKE – Muuttolinnut – 93 (Warner)'93 album with PIIRPAUKE remaining a trio. A release filled with African and Finnish folk songs, with pianos, acoustic guitars, percussions, flutes etc. Finnish artrock-world music-jazz.

PIIRPAUKE - Kalevala spirit – 97 (Warner)Another face of the Finnish world band. This album about the Finnish deep woods, are an album containing lots of Finnish folk music from the north, together with some jazzy tunes as well, like the superb intensive "I shouldn' t be singing".
PUGH ROGEFELDT – Bamalama – 76 (Warner)'77 album from Swedish acid rocker. 9 tracker of deranged rock with swedish vocals, a little less psychedelic than his 3 first, yet still good music ! Guests from Björn J:Son Lindh and Pekka Pohjola.
PUGH ROGEFELDT – Hollywood – 72 (Warner)3rd album. With the opening track, "Jag är en liten pojk", Pugh got a major hit in Sweden, and was his first step to fame in Sweden. A folky tale that is a superb piece of music. The rest is not bad either, and hightligths are the Visan om Bo" and the title track as well. Really good !! Guitarrist on this album is Kenny Håkansson from KEBNEKAISE. 3rd from the classic Pugh trilogy. Remastered.
PUGH ROGEFELDT - Bolla och rulla – 74 (Metrono)'74 album by rude and crude Swedish acid rocker with lots of harsh guitars and political vocals. Open with the superb "Hog farm", which is a real jewel !! Recommended album, even for fans of NOVEMBER.
RADIOMOBEL – Tramseböx – 75 (Transubs)Debut album from Swedish psych / prog band. 9 tracks of ambitious, spooky 1970s psychedelia with atmospheric and cosmic sounds. With Swedish lyrics and focus on guitars, that are often quite fuzzed out. Compared to their 2nd album, “Gudang garam”, this is more in the direction of hippie psych, at times remiscent of both ALGARNAS TRADGARD as well as TRÄD, GRÄS & STENAR. Even seen them being compared to KENNELMUS and BENT WIND. The sound have been cleaned up from the mastertape, and of course we add the history behind RADIOMÖBEL in the booklet as well ! First time on CD.
RALPH LUNDSTEN – Lyckolegend – 81 (Andro)Containing 1 long opus from Swedens most well known new-age composer. The theme is dealing with "A midwinter saga".
ROCK & ROLL BAND - Everybody needs dance music – 75 (Love)First time on remaster this mid 70's Finnish band roll over Beethoven again. Mixing 70's hardrock with HURRIGANES, with good guitars by Dave Lindholm. This is a release to be played loud !! +"Gotta Go Downtown", "Fever" & "Seventh Son".
STOCKHOLM NORRA - Stockholm Norra – 79 (MNW)First time on CD for this political Swedish band featuring ex members of BLÅ TÅGET. 10 tracks of laidback, but interesting rock in the same school as NYNNINGEN and NATIONALTEATERN. + 1 Bonus track: "Den Nyaste Regeringen".
SVENSKA MUSIKRÖRELSEN - Musikens makt – 01 (Living I)Swedish proletarian progg rock in Swedish tradition, meaning close to bands like CONTACT and NATIONALTEATERN and HOOLA BANDOOLABAND. Features members of FIENDENS MUSIK and RISKEN FINNS. Swedish vocals and a good rock bottom.
UNDERTAKERS CIRCUS – Ragnarok – 73 (Pan)11 piece Norweigan band who performs progressive rock tracks, incl. brass section and congas. Like bands like HÖST, this band also sticks to Norweigan lyrics. Some tracks more basic rock, and some more progressive and calm. + 2 Bonus tracks: "Riil Kontri Mjusik", "Menuett Silikose".
ZUT EN FEU ROUGE - Explain this country – 83'83 album from Swedish RIO / avantgarde including musician Lach'n Jonson. Taking SAMLA MAMMAS MANNA a step further in the RIO school, adding a dark feeling, sombre and haunting violins and disturbed guitar sounds. Swedish vocals. Far out release!
Пора, наконец, пробить мощную брешь в этом опостылевшем шведском лейбле MNW
